How about being so broke that you cannot pay your rent?
How about having a beautiful woman and raising up lovely kids that you cannot take care of? Isn’t that downgrading?
Wouldn’t that make you feel less of a man?
Or is that what you want?
Poverty has the potential to kills self confidence, self esteem and ego. A poor man looks out of the window wishing to be like one of his fellow whose standard of living is better than his.
Poverty destroys a person self worth and respect for oneself. He sits in the midst of those who are financially buoyant and feel unworthy and uncomfortable and feels more at ease when he sees someone like him. Some out of spending everything they subjected themselves to the disease called poverty. Poverty is a disease it gets hold of a man’s thinking ability to his blood vessels and then gradually engulfs the entire body system thus making him to wish all the time.
Poverty makes you think this way ‘’ I wish I had that money’’. ‘’if only I had gone to school’’. ‘’if only I was born rich. Poverty is no choice, it is more of a decision. Poverty would make you go for quantity instead of quality. Isn’t that disease enough?
There is no pleasant life than being able to buy what you want, go where you want, and associate with whom you want. Well in case you don’t know poverty restricts association.

There is no greater bondage than poverty. That quotation ‘’ the love of money is the root of all evil’’ has been misinterpreted. Those who do not understand it’s meaning wallow in the shores of scarcity. Money is never an evil no matter how much of it you accumulate. It only becomes treason when you let it take over the paramount things of life. You must perish the thought of ‘’ Just need enough to survive’’. Earn as much as you can so you can live high as possible. But for emphasis do not let it deprive you of your paramount duties. You must hate poverty like death because it strips a man of his values, thus making him of no value.
A preacher made a statement of which I deem as a blunder. He was speaking the truth until he started ‘’ you see those rich guys out there are always in a secluded environ. They do not work freely in public or open, the reason being fear of being attacked by enemies or rivals. The poor on the other hand walks freely’’ he made me angry when he further described the movement of the poor as ‘’free like a bird’’ kind of lifestyle. There is no freedom in poverty. You must do everything and anything to move from such state but do not compromise because of the quest for riches.. I hear people say money makes men compromise. It is not money that makes a man compromise it is lack of self discipline. There are scores of men who made insane money without having to compromise their moral values. If you see having abundance of it as inappropriate then you will never get rich even if you have to work round the clock.
